About the event

Children and teens with OCD are often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or struggling with hidden compulsions that can be difficult to recognize. This interactive training is designed to help clinicians better understand how OCD presents in pediatric populations and how to prepare children and families for effective ERP treatment.

Participants will learn practical, developmentally appropriate strategies for assessing pediatric OCD, identifying themes and compulsions, explaining OCD and ERP to children and caregivers, and building readiness and engagement before beginning exposure work.

TRAINING TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Understanding how OCD presents in children and teens

  • Identifying common and hidden compulsions

  • Recognizing reassurance seeking and family accommodations
