Go Poop! Contamination ERP Game
GO POOP!™ – An ERP Card Game for Contamination OCD
GO POOP!™ is a playful, therapist-designed card game that transforms exposure practice into a fun and engaging experience for children, teens, and families working through contamination-related OCD fears.
Modeled after the classic game Go Fish, GO POOP!™ features contamination-themed words that encourage repeated exposure through conversation, visualization, and play. As players request cards, make matches, and hear phrases like "Go Poop!" throughout the game, they have opportunities to practice tolerating discomfort while reducing avoidance and fear responses.
Designed for use by mental health professionals trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), this game can be incorporated into therapy sessions to support:
Contamination OCD treatment
Exposure practice through play
Identification and tracking of SUDS ratings
Increased willingness to engage with feared words and concepts
Child-friendly ERP interventions
Before gameplay, therapists can obtain SUDS ratings for each word and encourage clients to visualize the feared stimuli. After the game, ratings can be revisited to track changes in distress and support therapeutic discussion.
GO POOP!™ helps make ERP more approachable, memorable, and even a little silly—because sometimes saying "poop" over and over is exactly the exposure a child needs.
For use by therapists, counselors, and other mental health professionals trained in ERP.
